SIMON JOHN CHARLES LE BON

Biography:

His Family is descended from the Huguenots (a 16th Century group of French protestants).

As Simon matured he devoted his time to drama and singing and at 5 he had taken acting lessons, appearing in an advertisement for Persil washing powder, Coke and a French coffee manufacturer as well as posing for knitwear patterns in a womens magazine.

Simon appeared in several amateur stage productions such as The King and I when he was 7, Bless the bride with the Harrow light opera company, Little Lord Fauntleroy (where he got his first taste of the frilly shirts!) and A man for all seasons. Simon's first professional stage appearance was at the Cambridge Theatre, London where he appeared alongside Roy Dotrice in Tom Brown's Schooldays playing the part of one of Tom's friends at Rugby school.

Simon was a soprano but his mother feared for his voice and that if he pushed it as it broke he could have no voice left, so Simon gave up singing with the church choir from which he had been awarded several trophies in various festivals, he was terribly disappointed mother Ann who has operatic training, continued to coach Simon with his singing and along with valuable lessons from drama and his stage work, Simon had the groundings for a strong voice for the future.

Simon's first performed with a punk band called Dog Days when he was 17, at one gig they were fourth on the bill and were not allowed to play on the stage, they had to play on the floor! Simon also sang with Bolleaux , Eddie and the Hotrods and Rov Ostrov.

Before heading for University Simon spent some time working on a kibbutz in Israel.


It was while Simon was studying Drama at Birmingham University, that Fiona Kemp (a girlfriend working as a barmaid at The Rum Runner) gave Simon's phone number to John Taylor whose band "Duran Duran" were looking for a singer.

Biography:

Nick decided to change his name to Rhodes soon after starting Duran Duran. He and John Taylor formed the band in 1978.
Nick married Julianne Friedman in London on August 12 1984, the couple divorced in December 1994. They had one child, Tatjana Lee Orchid Rhodes who was born on August 23 1986.

After that he started dating Madeline, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Victoria Hervey and at the moment it's Meredith Ostrom. As we speak it could be someone else already.

NIGEL JOHN TAYLOR

Biography: John always wanted to be a pop star. At art college John's exhibitions won high marks. He is a big fan of James Bond and cars like Aston Martin, BMW and Porsche. He married Amanda de Cadened but broke up again. His new love is Gela Nash.

ANDREW "ANDY" WILSON TAYLOR

Biography: Father was a fisherman as was his grandfather, but as work got scarce he turned his hand to carpentry. Andy Started working as a musician after leaving school in 1976, at 16 he joined a punk band called "The Gigolos" who became "Motorway" in 1977 they landed a record deal with A&M and released a single called "teenage girls" it never charted.

ROGER ANDREW TAYLOR

Born: 26.04.60 Castle Bromwich, Birmingham

Biography: After much encouragement to get a proper job, Roger went to work at the Land Rover factory for a couple of weeks, and managed a day at the local post office sorting mail.
But Roger was determined once he sets his mind on something that's pretty much it, he told his parents that this was all he really wanted to do. He put his drums in his bedroom and naturally caused a few upsets, so he was limited to the amount of time he could actually practise.

In 1977 Roger joined a band called The Scent Organs, they used to take it turns practising in each others houses, but when it was Roger's turn to accomadate the band, the floors used to rattle, the pictures fell off the walls and everything shook off the fireplace, So Hughie and Jean arranged for them to use the Church hall.

Biography:

He lived in LA from 1978 to 1989 until he moved to London. He played with Frank Zappa's band from December 1978 - January 1980. In 1980 he formed Missing Persons with Dale and Terry Bozzio and he was with them until he joined Duran Duran to play on their Notorious Album in 1986.
In 1994 he recorded a debut solo album called "Thanks to Frank". He has also worked with Michael Jackson and Meat Loaf.

Warren did a great job to fill up the leak when Andy left the band.
